Maintenance testing

After deployment, the system and its operating environment are often adjusted, changed, or expanded. At this stage, maintenance testing is provided.

Usually, maintenance testing consists of:

  • Testing the changes that were made (fixing or extension of the system, additional features).
  • Regression tests to assure that the rest of the system was not affected by the changes.
Regardless of what is the proposed software update, it should not interfere with the functioning of existing software. The bottom line is to ensure that the update does not lead to the failure of all software.
Also, regardless of how small or large the proposed modification is, it should be checked as fully as possible to avoid any downtime and issues related to functionality.
